Sorrento FC will field two junior teams for the 2017 season, an U15’s and U17’s, and after running successful trials last October will enter Div 1 and Div 3 Ladies teams. We also have junior girls in the 5 – 11 year old age bracket.
Efforts into the female program will continue to occur to ensure we are well placed for juniors to transition into the competitive Women’s League.
Our aims include providing a strong, stable and fun learning environment for all female players, with teams being coached in accordance with the FFA curriculum.
In 2017 all teams will be run by qualified coaches. All junior coaches are required to have to have Working with children checks.
Trials were held in October 2016
We have places still available for….

2016 Female Achievements:
15’s Div 1
The team had a great season despite being hampered with injuries, illness and absenteeism and often played with less than 11 players. The girls finished 2nd in the league, won the Cup and were runners up in the Top 4 Grand final.
15’s Div 2
This team also suffered throughout the season with injuries and illnesses. We saw the girls develop their individual skills and team playing style.
17’s Div 1
This team also had a successful season. Starting the year extremely low on numbers and managing to pick up players during the season they finished 3rd in the league and won the Top 4 Grand Final. We are proud to say that seven of these girls are moving up to play in the Ladies Div 1 team in 2017.
Ladies Div 3
This team has a mixture of ages and abilities and after suffering heavy defeats in our opening two matches a new coach was appointed and we finished a very commendable 3rd.
Three of our ladies have been selected to represent W.A in the over 50’s World Master Games in New Zealand this April.
